SHORT BIO: Robin Stevenson is the award winning author of thirty-five books for kids and teens, including the picture books PRIDE PUPPY and A HUG ON THE WIND, the non-fiction book QUEER HISTORY A-Z, and the forthcoming novel, THE BOOK OF JUPITER. Her next picture book, PRIDE PUPPY COUNTDOWN, will come out in spring 2027. Robin is represented by Amy Tompkins at Transatlantic Literary Agency, and lives on the west coast of Canada.
LONG BIO: Robin Stevenson is the award winning author of thirty-five books of fiction and non-fiction for kids and teens, including the picture books PRIDE PUPPY and PRIDE COLORS. Her newest titles are QUEER HISTORY A-Z: 100 YEARS OF ACTIVISM (2024) and A HUG ON THE WIND (2025). She has also written many middle grade and YA novels, and six titles in the KID LEGENDS series. Robin’s next novel, THE BOOK OF JUPITER, will be released in spring 2026. Her next picture book, PRIDE PUPPY COUNTDOWN, will come out in spring 2027.
Her books have won the Silver Birch Award, the Sheila A. Egoff award and a Stonewall Honor, and been finalists for the Governor General’s Literary Awards, the Lambda Literary Awards, and many reader’s choice awards. Her work has been translated and published in more than ten countries, including Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Robin was the Book and Periodical Council of Canada’s Champion of Free Expression for 2022. In 2023, she was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence. She is a co-founder of Canadian Authors and Illustrators Against Book Bans.
Robin was born in the UK and grew up mostly in Ontario. She has degrees in philosophy and social work, and worked for ten years as a social worker and counsellor before becoming a full time writer. She is represented by Amy Tompkins at Transatlantic Literary Agency, and lives on the west coast of Canada with her family.
